The Aloha Tomorrow Study explored ways to improve Aloha and develop the area with a community focus. The study included wide-reaching community engagement and resulted in over 100 recommendations to improve living conditions in Aloha-Reedville.
The 2017 Aloha Tomorrow Final Report recommendations included developing Alexander Street as a community main street for Aloha. The plan calls for sidewalks, bike lanes, on-street parking and street trees. The plan also calls for a pedestrian and bike crossing across 185th Avenue. A street concept design example from the Aloha Tomorrow Plan is shown below.
Alexander Street, between 178th and 192nd avenues, is funded for road improvement design only through the Major Streets Transportation Program (MSTIP 3e). As part of this design process, the project team determined that the proposed cross section needs to be modified in some areas.
The Alexander Street Design Update presents the proposed design update. Please review the Design Update on the following page and visit the Comment Table to share your questions and feedback.
